The 3 Day Startup (3DS) team is proud to announce that it has received a $148,240 grant from the U.S. Embassy in Vienna to lead the Austria to Austin Student Startup Exchange summer initiative. These funds will support a two-week exchange program in which eighteen standout Austrian university students will start early stage companies and become innovation bridges between the U.S. and Austria. In addition to promoting mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of Austria, this program will inform future Austrian entrepreneurs of the entrepreneurial ecosystem as practiced in the U.S. and create linkages between Austrian and Texan entrepreneurs to foster future business partnerships and investments.
We look forward to welcoming these students to Austin on July 4th.
This is the latest of several 3DS engagements with the U.S. Department of State; both organizations have partnered previously for programs in Qatar, Portugal, Malawi, and Morocco. “Governments across the world are realizing the power of entrepreneurship for advancing leaders, economies, and societies,” said 3DS CEO Cam Houser. “We’re thrilled to build the vision of a connected future between young Austrian and American entrepreneurial leaders. And this is just the beginning!”
In two short weeks, participating students will build ventures, connect with entrepreneurs at the annual conference for the 3DS tribe (3DS Global Roundup), attend site visits to learn about the Austin startup ecosystem, and experience various cultural activities from Austin’s Fourth of July celebration to enjoying the best BBQ in the world.
As one of the most innovative cities in America and the fastest growing startup ecosystems, Austin is the perfect environment to build the entrepreneurial potential of Austria’s future leaders. If your company is interested in supporting our efforts, please contact Alexis Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to working with you and hosting these students this summer.
About 3 Day Startup
3 Day Startup is an international 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds entrepreneurial capabilities in students and employees at schools, corporations, and governments through accelerated, experiential learning. To date, 3DS is operating on all inhabited continents through partnerships with 123 schools in 26 countries. Of the 8,640 alumni who have participated in a 3DS program, 90 have gone on to launch companies that have raised over $90 million in investor capital and 34 of which have been accepted into prestigious accelerators. 3 Day Startup program alumni become equipped for future success: students not only learn the skills to found a company but also land jobs in startups, drive innovation in established corporations, and kickstart social impact projects.
