Join the 3 Day Startup team for a paid, semester-long internship where you can gain non-profit experience, work out of the center of gravity for entrepreneurship in Austin, and help make outsized change in global entrepreneurship.

3DS programs train participants to start companies, an act of creation charged with hope, promise, and potential. This experience transforms both the budding entrepreneur and the people their new venture serves. For students, the practice of entrepreneurship instills confidence, motivation, and hustle. For communities, entrepreneurship grows economies, creates jobs, and brings people together to solve problems.

Over the last 10 years, more than 13,000 students at 150 universities, colleges, and high schools all over the world have learned entrepreneurship the 3 Day Startup way: discovering customers and validating markets, iterating, prototyping, and learning-by-doing. 3DS continues to increase the scale, scope, and quality of immersive entrepreneurship education.

We are looking for 2 paid interns for the spring 2019 semester: a Marketing & Communications Intern and an Operations Intern. All candidates must be in the Austin area and available to come to the 3DS office at Capital Factory 10 – 12 hours/week. Candidates must also have a laptop, cell phone, and reliable transportation. 

Operations Intern

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience (in or out of school) in a field related to business, administration, HR, operations, or communications.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a strong focus and prioritization
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects at once

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations on various projects related to the operating of the organization
  • Assist with booking travel and accommodations for program facilitators
  • Assist with tracking program metrics to measure success
  • Contribute to brainstorming and discussions about how to optimize efficiency
  • In addition to these responsibilities, interns have the opportunity to lead or contribute to other projects and tasks and develop a personalized learning agenda around key skill sets that they seek to develop or expand
Marketing & Communications Intern

This internship will give you experience working with multiple team members to tell the 3 Day Startup story. You’ll learn about the different types of programs 3DS offers, how to share that impact with the world, and build an extensive portfolio with newsletter copy, graphic design, and more.

*Note: this internship is 2 semesters and will transition into an Exchange Program Intern for the summer semester, supporting the Exchange Programs team on executing our Austria to Austin program.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience (in or out of school) in a field related to design, journalism, communications, marketing, or business.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a strong focus and prioritization
  • Experience with managing social media and marketing for other brands
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Experience with the Adobe Suite (primarily Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign)
  • Excitement about entrepreneurship, startups, and university-level education
  • Bonus: Experience with WordPress, video editing

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in telling the 3DS story using blogs, videos, and images
  • Assist in the development and execution of 3 Day Startup’s social media strategy
  • Collaborate on marketing tactics and getting 3DS content seen by more people
  • Develop graphics for various programs and projects throughout the semester
  • In addition to these responsibilities, interns have the opportunity to lead or contribute to other projects and tasks and develop a personalized learning agenda around key skill sets that they seek to develop or expand
