Join the 3 Day Startup team for a paid, semester-long internship where you can gain non-profit experience, work out of the center of gravity for entrepreneurship in Austin, and help make outsized change in global entrepreneurship.

3DS programs train participants to start companies, an act of creation charged with hope, promise, and potential. This experience transforms both the budding entrepreneur and the people their new venture serves. For students, the practice of entrepreneurship instills confidence, motivation, and hustle. For communities, entrepreneurship grows economies, creates jobs, and brings people together to solve problems.

Over the last 10 years, more than 12,000 students at 150 universities, colleges, and high schools all over the world have learned entrepreneurship the 3 Day Startup way: discovering customers and validating markets, iterating, prototyping, and learning-by-doing. 3DS continues to increase the scale, scope, and quality of immersive entrepreneurship education.

We are looking for 3 interns for the spring 2018 semester: a Marketing Intern, a Conference Intern, and an Outbound Sales Intern. All candidates must be in the Austin area and available to come to the 3DS office at Capital Factory 10 – 12 hours/week. Candidates must also have a laptop, cell phone, and reliable transportation.

Marketing Intern

Qualifications

  • Working towards Bachelor’s degree in a field related to design, journalism, communications, marketing, or business.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong focus and prioritization
  • Experience with managing social media and marketing for other brands
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Experience with the Adobe Suite (primarily Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign)
  • Excitement about entrepreneurship, startups, and university-level education
  • Bonus: Experience with WordPress, video editing

Responsibilities

  • Support the Brand Journalist in their role of telling the 3DS story using blogs, videos, and images
  • Assist in the development and execution of 3 Day Startup’s social media strategy
  • Collaborate with the Brand Journalist on marketing tactics and getting 3DS content seen by more people
  • In addition to these responsibilities, interns have the opportunity to lead or contribute to other projects and tasks and develop a personalized learning agenda around key skill sets that they seek to develop or expand
Conference Intern

Qualifications

  • Working towards Bachelor’s degree in a field related to marketing, communications, or business.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong focus and prioritization
  • Experience planning large-scale events
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Excitement about entrepreneurship, startups, and events
  • *Note: The conference takes place July 20th – 22nd. All applicants must be able to commit to the spring and summer semesters

Responsibilities

  • Support the Conference Directors in their role of organizing the annual Global Roundup conference, including sitting in on all planning meetings with the Directors and Advisory Board
  • Assist with the outreach to, and management of, 50+ speakers and panelists, many of whom are high-profile entrepreneurs in the Austin area
  • Lead promotion and marketing to potential attendees outside the 3DS network
  • Assist with all on-site logistics for the conference, including but not limited to: preparing name tags, rearranging furniture, setting up sponsor booths, hanging promo materials, organizing catering
  • In addition to these responsibilities, interns have the opportunity to lead or contribute to other projects and tasks and develop a personalized learning agenda around key skill sets that they seek to develop or expand
Outbound Sales Intern

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to business or communications
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong focus and prioritization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Excitement about entrepreneurship, startups, and higher education
  • Willingness to learn
  • Past experience with sales is a plus
  • *Note: This internship has the opportunity to lead to a full-time opportunity with 3 Day Startup upon completion.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Outbound Sales team in their role of selling 3 Day Startup programs to colleges and universities across the country
  • Correspond with university faculty and staff via email to schedules sales call and share follow-up information
  • Join 3 Day Startup staff for sales call with the goal of leading your own calls
  • Keep track of your sales pipeline using the software provided
  • In addition to these responsibilities, interns have the opportunity to lead or contribute to other projects and tasks and develop a personalized learning agenda around key skill sets that they seek to develop or expand
